Zoomtext - Transcript

Hi, I'm Glenn Morrow and I have a visual impairment. I have mainly central vision. My eyesight, I don't see to the sides or down very well, so my sight is fairly straight ahead.

I'm using a package called Zoomtext to view the World Wide Web. Zoomtext enables us to enlarge text on the computer screen so that it's more visible.

To someone like me who has a visual impairment, Zoomtext takes what's on the screen and enlarges it. You can control how much the text is enlarged, you can have it two-times, three-times, four-times, or even six-times what it was originally, and you can also change how it is viewed on the screen.

So you can have, instead of having the whole screen enlarged and you just moving around the screen in a perspective, you can have a little magnifying glass which becomes your mouse pointer, and you use the mouse to move around the screen.

So it's quite a great little package actually and it certainly helps in viewing the web and making computers accessible to anyone who has a visual impairment.
